The weather forecast for the next few weeks is looking great as many across South Australia prepare for school holidays.

The Fleurieu Peninsula is affectionately known as ‘Adelaide’s Playground’. Only 45 minutes from the city, you are in a stunning region that is family friendly with year round activities for everyone.

To help you with planning your holiday, why not consider one or more of our 5 regions across the Fleurieu Peninsula.


McLaren Vale & Area

Known for as an award winning wine region that offers superb food sourced from regional producers,McLaren Vale is not only for adults, but even kids love it. For cellar doors that are family friendly, check out Winey Kids for their recommendations. The wine region includes stunning coastlines as well as charming communities. Port Noarlunga offers an arts & culture flare to the region but also plenty of aquatic activities. Easy Kayak and Port Noarlunga SNUBA are available and are a fun way to get some exercise and enjoy the water. Surf n Sun also provides lessons at nearby Moana beach.


Strathalbyn & Area

Set in the beautiful hills, Strathalbyn is stunning and offers a great get away destination.  The Strath Motel is family friendly and makes the perfect hub to explore the region. If you aren’t afraid of heights this is the perfect place for air adventure. Whether you enjoy a hot air balloon or a helicopter ride, or even sky diving, for the adventure seeker in your family this is the place to be.


Goolwa & Area

Goolwa is buzzing! With businesses growing and plenty on offer, Goolwa, Middleton and Port Elliot make an ideal place for any family over the holidays. The Goolwa Motel has new owners that are focused on making your stay memorable. You can enjoy a Cruise to the Coorong or Spirit of the Coorong, or a surf lesson with a local, or even a bike ride along the Encounter Bike Way.  The outdoor activities are easily accessible and there are daily adventures that are sure to keep everyone entertained.


Victor Harbor & Area

This year-round destination knows how to play host to families. From the Horse Drawn Tram to the Steam Trainkids are sure to enjoy the many adventures available.

Urimbarra Wildlife Park is always a favourite to get up close with kangaroos and koalas. The SA Whale Centrewill have kids activities available, but also daily updates on the location of whales in the bay. A perfect way to enjoy whale watching is with the Big Duck Boat Tours.

Yankalilla & Area
