TrailHopper Hop On Hop Off Wine Tours ...'your tour, your way'
Posted: 15 October 2016 / Prepared by: Miranda Lang
There are a number of ways to explore McLaren Vale and its treasure of cellar doors and gourmet restaurants.
Whether you choose to drive yourself and plan your day on an escorted tour there are options.
Now a first for South Australia
Trail Hopper offers Adelaide’s only hop on, hop off tour service departing from the CBD and showcasing 3 of South Australia’s finest wine regions – the McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley.
In 2016 Trail Hopper was founded by Matt & Kristian, business partners and entrepreneurs willing to invest in the idea that the abundance of online information has changed the nature of touring new regions.
The thought behind the model is that Matt & Kristian believe passengers are more self-reliant and resourceful than ever before, enabling them to decide which venues they want to visit on a tour, where they have lunch, and how long they stay at each stop.
Thus, TrailHopper was created. It offers a service where that stops at a number of wineries on a pre-determined circuit and employer guests with information about each destination, the timetable and suggestions on how to plan your tour.
It is all about customising ‘your tour, your way’.
Touring Your Way …
- Collection and return from Adelaide CBD (Stamford Plaza Hotel) or within the region itself
- Regular timetable you can rely on (see below)
- Hop on or off at any stop along the way
- Stay as long you like at any stop
- Maximise your wine budget
- No need for drink driving or designated drivers
- Amazing food options to suit all tastes and budgets
- World class wines
- Spectacular scenery
- Unforgettable cellar door experiences
The way it works is this: For a flat fee of $49 customers are picked up in the CBD and driven out to the region of choice (McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills are on offer at this stage). From there the buses drive through a cycle of wineries all day, with individuals free to jump on board and ride to their next destination as they please.
To help you with your planning there is an information pack that includes a timetable, a short description on each cellar door and instructions on how best to plan your day.
McLaren Vale is celebrated for its contemporary wine styles and welcoming cellar doors.
Known as the Vale to the locals, this region is home to sustainable winegrowing, world-class wines and culinary experiences, as well as pristine natural attractions and unparalleled tourism offerings.
Not only is McLaren Vale an internationally acclaimed wine district, the town is surrounded by beautiful scenery and offers many excellent restaurants and cafés serving delicious regional produce. McLaren Vale is nestled between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the beaches of Gulf St Vincent and is the perfect base for exploring the region’s many cellar doors
A perfect place to experience the flavours of the region.
