Regional Events and Festivals Program
Financial support towards marketing and PR (only) for events which promote South Australia and its regions as tourism destinations.
Regional events are significant to their location and its community, provide good economic returns and are able to boost the profile of the region.
These events attract domestic and/or intrastate visitors, must generate local media and have the ability to receive state and national media coverage.
Applicants are encouraged to consider applying for multiple year agreements (up to 3 years), and should identify the projected growth over this period throughout their application.
Community Events Development Fund
This fund supports new, smaller or community-based events seeking to increase their tourism relevance, or undertake a specific project to achieve this.
Events may apply for up to $5,000 p.a. to attract new audiences and support the event’s development in a way that promotes South Australia and its regions as tourism destinations.
Community events are primarily driven and sustained by the respective local community, providing strong social outcomes, but less of an economic benefit to the region.
These events may have the ability to grow into regional events.
NOTE: The 2017/18 program will support events held after 1 September 2017. If you are working with an event held between Sep-Nov 2017 which will need significant in-kind support through advice, etc. – I would encourage them to consider applying for the 2018 event if feasible as this will allow more time for the SATC to provide advice and leverage the opportunity with the organisers.
