TEE OFF at golf sa men's country week
Posted: 17 August 2018
This year’s event is sure to be a week full of non-stop action and awe-inspiring views.
Players get a chance to play at a different location each day, including some of the most stunning golf courses in the Fleurieu.
Why not base yourself in the splendour of Victor Harbor at The McCracken Country Club, or on the spectacular west coast at Links Lady Bay? Deluxe accommodation, all other courses within 40 minutes drive, and the location for days 2 and 4, they’re ideal places to stay for the week.
Day one starts off at Mount Compass Golf Course, where players will be treated to rolling green hills and that country hospitality you wouldn’t expect anywhere else.
Next to the number one rated public golf course in South Australia (and listed in Australia Golf Digest top 100), Links Lady Bay. You’ll stop play to take a picture of the glimmering waters of Gulf St. Vincent through the towering Norfolk Pines.
Wednesday’s round takes you to Victor Harbor Golf Club. Set amongst the gums and native shrubbery, there’s every chance you will have the local Kangaroos watching on and critiquing your swing.
Have a little sleep in on Thursday as the day’s activities are at McCracken Country Club. After a long day on the green, sit back, enjoy a frosty one and take in the spectacular sunset over the rolling fairways.

The final day of play will be held at South Lakes Golf Club in the heart of Goolwa. For those not participating, take some time out to relax on a cruise through the Coorong National Park (Storm Boy Country). Otherwise, hop on the Cockle Train to Port Elliot and sip on a latte as you enjoy some retail therapy or wander down and dip your toes in the sand at Horseshoe Bay.
Staying on for the weekend? Head East to Langhorne Creek and partake in a wine tasting (or beer tasting if that’s your preference) at The Winehouse. For those real wine lovers, pop into Bleasdale, Langhorne Creek’s oldest winery, to see the mammoth 168 year old basket press.
