Tavel through the Adelaide Hills taking in the sights before heading to the Monarto Safari Park located approx 70 kilometres from South Australia’s capital city Adelaide and is the gateway to the picturesque Murraylands region.
The park started in 1983 and opened to the public in 1993, it is growing into the largest safari experience to exist outside of Africa. It covers more than 1,500 hectares and is home to over 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles. Monarto Safari Park is home to many of Africa’s most impressive animals and also one of Australia’s largest lion prides and giraffe herds, celebrating outstanding breeding success and is owned and operated by a conservation charity, Zoos SA.
There are also free Zu-loop buses to help you explore the park. As you travel around the open plains of Monarto Safari Park, be sure to make the most of your visit, and hop off at our viewing platforms.
There is also a 12km network of walking tracks for those keen to explore our zoo on foot.
On return, stop in historic Hahndorf for a short break before heading back to your accommodation.
