Port Elliot is a historic coastal town that has evolved into the perfect day trip or beach holiday location. The township boasts plenty of food, wine, and boutique shopping experiences – alongside a stretch of antique stores and booksellers.

Just over an hour south of Adelaide, Port Elliot and neighbouring Victor Harbor and Middleton are the city’s go-to weekend getaway spots.

The town’s most popular beach – Horseshoe Bay – offers a safer swimming haven amongst rough southern swell, and the flagged portion of the beach is monitored by surf lifeguards over summer.

Visitors can take in the magnificent scenery by following the coastal walk around the headlands and protected bays. Be sure to keep an eye out in the cooler months for the pods of whales that flock to these waters from May – September!
