Wine, Fire & Cheese is an immersive, hands-on experience where you'll create your own artisan cheeses, craft native-infused butter, and enjoy a fireside wine tasting. Set in the atmospheric surrounds of Woodburn Homestead, this unique event is hosted by the culinary team at Fleurieu Food and Wine—bringing together storytelling, native ingredients, and artisan technique for an unforgettable afternoon.

What You'll Experience

Your experience begins with a warm welcome and a drink from the open bar, followed by a brief introduction to Woodburn Homestead and what you'll be creating throughout the session.

Then it's time to get hands-on.

You'll make:

Fresh mozzarella – from milk to hand-stretched cheese

Traditional halloumi – shaped and ready for brining at home

Marinated feta – using pre-supplied feta, olive oil, and native herbs

Cold-smoked cheddar – infused with the aroma of native wood

Native herb butter – churned and blended for a uniquely Australian flavour

While your creations rest, enjoy a relaxed wine tasting by the fire. Wines will be served informally, with flavour notes and pairing suggestions shared throughout. You're welcome to purchase additional wine during the afternoon.
